Brazil. This place inspires me! The people, the culture, the food. Art and music are everywhere. The colors just fill your eyes deep into your soul. There is so much noise, texture and beauty. It is alive and it awakes something within. And oh the warm light!!! I can only describe it as magical, precious golden rays of sun kissed by God himself. A photographer’s dream. It is such an honor as an artist to be able to document different stages of people’s lives everywhere we go.
While I was there this sweetheart turned one, so off course we had to celebrate it with a portrait session. We started our journey at her greatgrandma’s garden, then a fun cake smash followed by a splash filled milk bath. I just loved her and her beautiful smile. Happy birthday Malu, our little Ipanema girl!
Jay & Clara met at the Industry Public House in Pittsburgh at a birthday party. Jay noticed Clara from across the bar and there was an instant connection between them. They spent most of the night talking instead of chatting with their friends. Jay lived in State College and Clara’s home was in Pittsburgh, but they called each other everyday and spent the weekends together. After some time, Clara and her adorable dog Barkley moved to Happy Valley so they could finally be all together. Three years later, last September, Jay popped the question during a vacation to Dewey Beach in Delaware. That evening they watched the sunset from the boardwalk and took a stroll by the water. Jay knew it was the perfect moment, so reached into the pocket of his sweatshirt and pulled the most stunning ring Clara had ever seen. She was so surprised. They hugged, kissed and she said YES! About a month later, we met at the Arboretum at Penn State for their official engagement portraits. They make such a beautiful couple and I cannot wait for their wedding this coming Fall.
This styled shoot was full of beauty, romance and a bit of Southern charm. The details were so lovely and carefully curated by the amazing local vendors that collaborated in making every detail special. The flowers and table decor were adorned with real cotton blooms and the vintage Blue Willow china infused the theme with an old world feel. The setting chosen was the Rooted Farmstead in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. They are a brand new wedding venue with a restored barn surrounded by lovely fields. It was amazing to be a part of this day and collaborate with such talented wedding professionals.
